                RESORT UPDATES
Reservation Alert:  We are 90% Full

We are fast approaching a sell out for the season.  This time last year, we were only 60% full.  Our reservations have increased 30% over last year.  Due to demand, we have had to impose a three-month minimum for those wanting to reserve the months of January, February and March, which is our high season.  We do have a waiting list for those wanting a shorter rental and will try our best to squeeze them in on lots where we have cancellations.  But at this time, we cannot guarantee spaces for those wanting a reservation for those months less than three months.  As mentioned, all premium, deluxe and economy lots are sold out.  The lots remaining are standard lots.  We have added 5 new mobile home lots at the Trade Winds section of the Resort due to demand.  However, we will not be adding anymore for awhile due to the significant cost of moving electric poles and meter banks.  We now have 5 left (4 at Trade Winds and 1 at Mission Bell).  So, when those are gone, they are gone.

THE MISSION BELL BATHROOM REMODELING PROJECT IS DONE

What a beautiful result.  While we have included some pictures to give you a sample of how gorgeous they are, the pictures really don't do them justice.  You will just have to see the finished product up close when you arrive.  The granite counter tops are stunning.  All fixtures have been replaced, including adding new over-the-sink-bowl soap dispensers.  All fixtures are ADA friendly for ease of use by our residents.

A significant amount of work went into reconfiguring the hot water heater so we would have room for the new ladies entrance.  We had to redo electricity and plumbing.  Sewer lines were also reconfigured and repaired.  All toilets and mens' urinals are new.  Wally and company did a great job and we hope you join us in thanking him and all involved, especially Scott, for their hard work. We think it is a real show-stopper and was certainly worth the wait.  Honestly, it was a lot more work that any of us planned on.    But now that they are finished, they make our weekly large events in the MB Hall even more fun.

UPCOMING WIFI UPDATES AT TRADE WINDS

We have ordered new WIFI equipment and antennas for the Trade Winds section of the Resort that will be identical to what we have at Mission Bell.  Our goal is to improve coverage at Trade Winds and throughout the Resort.  The present Trade Winds equipment is slow and most residents have requested that we update it.  The new system will also be secured like it is at Mission Bell to cut down on hackers using our system and depleting our bandwidth (which is what makes your computer run slowly).

We do have to impose a fee at Trade Winds as soon as the equipment is installed to cover the costs associated with the upgrades.  For those unfamiliar with WIFI setups, in addition to the cost of the new equipment, we have to pay technicians to install it,  program it, and maintain it.  We also have large monthly fees we have to pay for the extra bandwidth we need for all who want to use it.  Finally, we will need to secure the system by taking your MAC numbers when you arrive and putting them into the system so you are a recognized and permitted user.

In sum, the new system is a lot more involved than the old free one.  But, it is what most of the Trade Winds residents wanted.  While some wanted to keep the old free system, it just did not work well at all and was more of a headache than anything else.  Of course it is optional whether you want to use it.  If you do, the WIFI fee this year for both sections of the Resort will be only $12 per month.
