              Active RVers Choosing Our Resort

Whistle while you work?  You bet.  The Seven Dwarfs have nothing on our crew.  Since our last email, we have been busier than Snow White ever dreamed of being.   We have  been busy making quality improvements for our guests and taking new reservations for next season.  This newsletter includes the beginning photos of all the work we have been doing while you have been away.  The resort looks so great that all we are missing is you.

Reservations have already begun in earnest at the Resort.  In fact, we continue to have a few new guests checking in and out staying with us this summer.   We are beginning to get reservations from RVers from Florida, Arizona and California.  Most are amazed our prices are less than half what they pay in those states.   Those of you that have been staying with us year after year may not realize that Texas is a  big money saver and a great value for winter retirees.  Most are telling us they are not planning to change their lifestyles next year.   They like the fact that our Resort is active and has something for everyone to do.  For those calling in already, they tell us it makes no sense for them to stay home next winter and freeze.  They don't see the wisdom of  paying high heating bills and staying cooped up indoors next winter  when they can choose to come south and enjoy our Resort, their friends, and the warm Texas winters.  Cold gloomy winters can be bad for your physical and mental health and our customers recognize that.

Our returning guests are also not compromising on choosing us as their RV Park for next season because of our location and all the activities we offer.  We have heard from many of you already making plans to return for next season to see your old friends, make new ones, and check out all we are doing at the Resort for your enjoyment next season.  You recognize the quality of our Resort and all that we offer.  It is hard to beat our recreation halls, dances, our pool halls, shuffleboard, card games and the fellowship that goes along with staying at a resort with so much going on.  Our sense of community at the Resort is unmatched at any RV park in the Rio Grande Valley.

Active retirees calling in to make reservations already for next season are attracted to our resort because they are looking for fun and entertainment.  They are not interested in saving a few dollars by staying in RV Parks in rural locations with little to offer day in and day out where the recreation halls are small or not air conditioned or they have to drive 20 minutes to get to a restaurant, grocery store or movie.  No other resort offers as much as we do per resident in terms of our location, activities and facilities.   We offer a lot for a good value.

Our year around guests are also having lots of fun at the resort.  The summer "gang" had a great Memorial Day Party.  This active group had a delicious potluck.  Dale and Betsy brought a ham and report that there was so much delicious food it was hard to sample everything.  Pat Hakola did a great job decorating the west hall and making the occasion very festive.  Our residents are also swimming nearly everyday.  They have been enjoying the Mission Bell pool because of the great palapa that offers welcome shade from the summer heat.

Our goal for next season is to: "Be All That We Can Be"..... and then some.   We will continue to focus on  providing the fun and activities our resort is known for throughout the RGV.  Audrey is busy planning a great activity schedule for you, which will begin sooner and end later in the season than last year because more and more of you are staying with us longer and coming earlier.

Our new management team, Dale and Betsy Potts, is a gift to us as owners and to all of you.
Their positive attitude, hard work and kind caring treatment of our customers is  right in line with our philosophy.  They have established an open door policy for our residents to better meet your needs.  They are eager to meet those of you who left before they came on board and hope to exceed your expectations next year.

We want to take a brief moment to sincerely thank those of you who brought last year's management issues to our attention.  We greatly appreciate our customers who were patient with us while we found new management and worked with law enforcement.  While some of you may have lingering questions, because the case is pending, we can only state that we were put in the position of working with law enforcement, which resulted in criminal charges being filed.   But we want to assure our guests that your experience at our Resort will not be impacted by this incident, but rather improved.

As you will see in this and future newsletters, our new managers and all of our staff are working very hard for you over the summer to make sure next season is the best ever.   We are doing tons of repairs and improvements.   We are moving forward with fantastic new managers and the atmosphere at our resort is very positive since the arrival of Betsy and Dale.

Dale and Betsy have been at the resort since the first week of April.  We stayed with them for over 5 weeks in April and May during their training.  We are happy to report that they have taken over the helm with great gusto.  Not only are they  highly qualified for the job, but they are very hard workers and have the friendly and caring attitude toward our customers that we intend to provide.  They are like a breath of fresh air.  We could not ask for better or more dedicated managers than they have been through this difficult time.  Those of you that have met them agree.   They really love people and it shows.

I cannot wait to show you more photos over the summer of the projects they are spear-heading at the Resort.  Please go to the Resorts Update Page when you finish this page to see all the photos and information about our improvements.  I promise it is a whopper.  You will miss a lot if you don't take a peak.  That's all for now; but there is so much happening at the Resort that your updates will be more frequent.  As long as we have information to report, you will get it.
